I got a letter from a fan who asked, ‘Could you explain satanism to me?’.. Well, Satanism is complex, and because of this, I offered a very brief overview along with some useful links to various sources on Satanism. Satanism as a social movement started in the late 60’s with the creation of the Church […]
The group, Satanickindred.org has written an article, called the ‘History of Satanism’. Let me say at first, that the article itself has no references or source material with it, so I have to approach their writing largely as a matter of opinion instead of fact. What I do not accept is the history that they […]
Satan’s Chaplain, a regular reader of my blog, provided me with some really interesting insights and comments on my last post (Reply To Questions About LaVey). I am replying to these comments here in this post, perhaps adding to the conversation in a meaningful way. I am open to discussion on these subjects, so I […]
Here is a letter from someone who came to my site, and had some typical statements to make about LaVey and LaVeyan beliefs: Not to be too critical, but it seems as though Lavey plagiarized much of the Satanic Bible, from Nietzsche and others. Also, it didn’t seem to work for him, he died pretty […]

Interesting question from a Youtube viewer of mine. He asks about the altar setup and it’s requirements in LaVeyan Satanism. I am a practicing LaVeyan Satanist. I have never done a ritual, but I am eager to do so. Here’s one thing I am hoping you could tell me though. Is it necessary to have […]
Today, April 11th is Satan’s day. I call this Satan’s day because its the day that all satanists should take a moment to pay respect to Satan. April 11th is a Satanic Holiday, it is Anton LaVey’s birthday, and according to the ‘satanic tradition’ of egoism, the birthday is the most holy day of all. […]
What is independent Satanism? The practice of solitary Satanism is on the rise today because of the availability of knowledge that we can access and use for our own personal benefit. Many stories that feature Satan give Satan an independent streak. Satan was the first rebel, the one who refused to conform. So it makes […]
