  • The Circle of the Art [Summoning]

I am moving my articles from the Art of Summoning website, to here on my blog. I want to improve on the success of my blog by adding these articles. In a few weeks my art of Summoning website will no longer host these articles.

    The Circle in Ceremonial Magic

The magic circle is known as the Circle of the Art in the Grimoire of Solomon. The Circle is inscribed into the ritual area, and used as a boundary between the magician and the spirits, keeping them at bay with the protection of inscribed talismans and incantations. The circle of the art is also used to draw upon the power of Jehova in order to make demons obey.

The magician is given instruction to create three concentric circles, in a clockwise direction. This is symbolized by the coiled serpent upon which the names of the angels of the nine Sephiroth are written. around this circle are four stars each symbolizing all of the elements, one for each elemental corner or direction. The magician is given instruction to create three concentric circles, clockwise which is symbolized by the serpent upon which the names of the angels of the nine Sephira are written. around this circle are four stars each symbolizing all of the elements, one for each elemental corner or direction. Above this is the triangle and circle of the art, a glyph or image that calls upon the power of God through the will of the magician.

Take thou Knife, the Sickle or Sword of magical art, consecrated after the manner and order which we shall deliver unto thee……With this knife or with the Sickle of the Art thou shalt describe, beyond the inner Circle which thou shalt have already formed, a second circle encompassing the other at the distance of one foot there from and having the same centre. Within this space, of a foot in breadth between the first and second circumferential line, thou shal trace towards the Four Quarters of the Earth…..” –S.L. MacGregor Mathers Goetia…1

    Solomon Triangle of the Art

Above this image of the coiled serpent is the Triangle of the Art, an image inscribed in front of the Circle of the Art that calls upon the power of God through the will of the magician. The magician creates these symbols within the summoning area to evoke, or manifest a demon into the triangle. Within the triangle name of Michael, and at the sides are written the words, Tetragrammation meaning Yod, He Vau He, the Four Names of God, Anaphaxetongreat God of the heavenly hosts, and Primeumation translated as Thou who art the First and the Last2. translated as

This is the Form of the Magical Triangle, into the which Solomon did command the Evil Spirits. It is to be made at 2 feet distance from the Magical Circle and it is 3 feet across..“–S.L. MacGregor Mathers Goetia…”3

The circle is designed to protect the summoner and to raise power that is transferred through them by the power of their god. This is called theurgy, the use of gods to produce results in magic. The triangle is the area of manifestation, and it is symbolic of the three planes or dimensions of existence. Summoning the spirit into the triangle manifests this spirit into the physical plane, according to the directions of the Goetia.

    Symbolic Representation

Magic uses symbolism through images, actions, and words. Ritual magic is dependent on these elements to help the magician focus. The same effects of the Solomon circle and triangle can be achieved without using the Solomon method, through a deep knowledge and understanding of the symbolism that is used in magic.

The circle enclosing the magician in the Solomon method, is a means of protection and of focus. The same method is used in witchcraft, without the names of god and the angels to assist. A similar method can be used in Satanic Ritual Magic as well, where the magician is the focus of the ritual and represents the ‘god-form’.

The symbolism of the circle must be understood before you can utilize it to its full potential. The circle, whether it is astral, physical or mental is an image that creates a boundary around you. Instead of appealing to a higher power the satanist becomes as a god. The circle represents the world or universe and at the center is god, the magician the higher self.

The Solomon method of theurgy works because it is God that is directing the angels and demons through the will of the magician. This god offers protection and enforcement. What the magician may not realize that it is their will that is really directing these forces, because without the desire of the magician there would be no results.

The Satanic Circle and Triangle of the Art

These are my theories, on the art of Summoning for Satanists. The Satanic method is not opposite to the Solomon method, it is just more refined. The Satanist is the god-form that influences the energy and direction of the spirits that they summon.

The Circle is not for protection, it is for enforcement. It is the very act of becoming “god” at the center of the universe, and projecting one’s will from this vantage point, that will give the Satanist the ability to do what they do.

Your body, and being is but a reflection of the universe. Your body is made of the same elements as are found in the universe, air, fire, earth, water, spirit. You are the representation of the pentagram and the circle, representing the earth, the universe, the elements, and the magician in tune with the universe.

Since it has been found that, demons, angels and celestial beings are both existent within and outside the mind at the same time, it really makes sense that you have the control and power to be able to call upon any being in this universe, whenever you want. You are not calling on god, you are evoking your own will. You must meditate on this idea, actively to reach this realization of unlimited potential within.

The Triangle, whether it is astral, physical or mental is an image that directs the will and focus it towards manifestation. The triangle is composed of three areas, each side representing a force. I like to associate these three with the words, I AM, I WILL, I CREATE, a magical mantra used because of the representation of the words and their combination. I AM focuses on the magician, as the center of the universe, I WILL is a focus of the will of the magician, and I Create is the manifestation of this will.

The triangle should face North, so that you can focus the energies of Fire, Water and Air, to manifest the spirit on the Earth plane. In the original Solomon Circle and triangle, the magician faces east but since the Satanist has no need to use the associations from this Christian paradigm, facing north or whatever direction you feel represents manifestation will help you.

This is only my method that I have developed and used over the years. You should attempt to come to your own personal understanding of the symbolism in magic and apply it in ways that you can relate to.

  • Invocation of Beleth

A question was sent to me from a friend who has been experimenting with Goetic evocations. I am hoping that I can give him some perspective in my reply..

“I evoked beleth for lust , you know sexual partners, I asked that it slowly manifest and then fully manifest by march 1st. Only a few days after I had a call from an old job that owed me money and had over 600$. This is not bad by any means, I am glad to get it, but I have not seen any manifestation of my lustful desires, any thoughts please?”

I would be helpful to know what type of ritual preparations that you used to evoke this demon. For instance, did you prepare beforehand by doing any ritual cleansing or preparations to evoke this demon, or was it something that was spur of the moment? If you have experience with goetics it is easier to make them manifest after you have found your particular method of manifesting them – eg., you know the triggers and are familiar with their style of communication and you know the expected outcomes. The more you summon, the more you are comfortable with the process and the easier it is to call their energy into your life.

Secondly, have you researched the nature of this demon? Does it work better with humans if it’s offered some type of tribute or payment in return? In some cases a relationship with a being like this does not come easily, or quickly because it is a spiritual relationship. Once you are comfortable with this demon and it knows what to expect from you, it becomes something that is familiar and it is often easier to evoke it to your realm when it is needed. So you may have to begin a process of offering devotion to it through ritual, or more appropriately, through sexual ritual if sexual desire is the nature of this demon. Also, you could research the proper incences/colors/oils and other attributes that will make the experience better for you that will attract the proper associations to you. It will create the proper environment for manifestation.

Using this link we can examine the [known] attributes of Beleth: KiaWiki Beleth

From the Goetia, Mathers: “Beleth is a King of Demons ..”The Thirteenth Spirit is called Beleth (or Bileth, or Bilet). He is a mighty King and terrible. He rideth on a pale horse with trumpets and other kinds of musical instruments playing before him. He is very furious at his first appearance, that is, while the Exorcist layeth his courage; for to do this he must hold a Hazel Wand in his hand, striking it out towards the South and East Quarters, make a triangle, without the Circle, and then command him into it by the Bonds and Charges of Spirits as hereafter followeth.”

We are obviously not using the classical ceremonial method of summoning. This involves entrapment of demons, and their harassment into submission.

What we can see from this statement in the goetia is that he is associated with the number 13.
Also, the things that may help with his manifestation would be music, especially the sound of brass, or horns.. Since they mention the south and the east, you could by association attempt to evoke elemental energies of Air and Fire. Here you have three associations by which to connect with him, a number, elemental correspondences and music.

From the Goetia, Mathers: “And if he doth not enter into the triangle, at your threats, rehearse the Bonds and Charms before him, and then he will yield Obedience and come into it, and do what he is commanded by the Exorcist. Yet he must receive him courteously because he is a Great King, and do homage unto him, as the Kings and Princes do that attend upon him.

Again, we are not threatening him into submission. but observe that as a ‘king’ of demons he may require some type of homage or tribute if he is to be pleased into working along with you. We are not talking ‘blood sacrifice’, 😉 but a ritual in his honor , [but not necessarily for worship!] would be a very inticing prospect to a demon like this.

From the Goetia, Mathers: “And thou must have always a Silver Ring on the middle finger of the left hand held against thy face, as they do yet before AMAYMON. This Great King Beleth causeth all the love that may be, both of Men and of Women, until the Master Exorcist hath had his desire fulfilled. He is of the Order of Powers, and he governeth 85 Legions of Spirits. His Noble Seal is this, which is to be worn before thee at working.”

As you can see, this demon does not specifically create ‘sexual desire’, all though that is one of your desires and the reason why you approach him for service. What did happen for you though when you scored the 600$ was a situation that came into your *favor*, involving a *gift* to you.
It was a manifestation of a long-held desire. And while it was not related specifically to what you asked for its a very good start. It produced love or favor from someone from your past who was not obligated to contact you or give you this gift.

And, while you have this 600$ to spend, it certainly increases your opportunity to get out there and put yourself in a situation where your true desire can manifest. You have to realize that your new lover is not going to knock on your door out of the blue, but they could be waiting for you in the right place at the right time! You are enabled through this money and you could easily take advantage of it. Perhaps a night on the town to celebrate, where you may meet someone that you can enjoy your time with? Some way to [physically] improve yourself through this money so that your ability to attract others in a sexual way will be increased?

You may want to consider the implication of the money that came your way. You may want to purchase a silver ring if you plan on investing more time and effort into this relationship, a token to remind you of the situation you are manifesting, and a symbol that seems to relate to the spirit known as Beleth. Maybe now you can purchase some incense or oil to use for another tribute ritual. You are enabled by this money.

The possibilities are there once the doors are opened. “Lustful desires” are easy to manifest by yourself, but the situation has to be right, and I’m sure that is what you are waiting for, and they can help, but demon-working is not a one-sided relationship.

Sometimes it is not what they give to us, but how it manifests into our life, and the significance that this can play in obtaining what you want.

    Now, more information on Beleth:
In the Shem ha-Mephorash the demon Beleth is a Day spirit ruled by Leo, the Element of Fire, and the Tarot Suit of Wands.

Your request was supposed to be fulfilled by march 1st? you still have some time to take advantage of your situation. We can not just lay back after an evocation and wait for them to serve us, for if it were that easy, everyone would be summoning demons to get things done!

You have to work along with this demon to help you, and in turn it will focus it’s attention on you. This can only come when you focus on the relationship that you have and you stop doubting yourself after you do your rituals. The doubt that you experience is natural, but it negates all of your efforts in the end. Working in unison with a demon is a good method of getting what you want. They are not servants and we are not slaves.

  • The Satanic Holidays

    The Satanic Holidays

Satanic HolidaysBecause of the Holidays, Ive been busy, and I thought that it would be appropriate to post this information about the holidays celebrated in Satanism:

There are holidays or celebrations for Satanists year-round. These Satanic Holidays were adapted like many other holidays, from the pagan calendar year. A traditional reference for Satanic Holidays can be found in the Satanic Bible, where LaVey describes seven different Satanic Holidays or celebrations throughout the year, three of them being major Holidays or events for Satanists.

These three major holidays for Satanists are the Birthday, Walpurgisnacht and Halloween. The birthday is considered to be the most important day of the year. The Satanist celebrates the birthday as a way of glorifying the self. Satanists also celebrate Walpurgis, on April 30th as the night that LaVey created the Church of Satan. Halloween or Samhain is also celebrated as the night where the veil of the astral is at its most thin.

While the Satanic Bible focuses on the three main holidays, there are also other holidays for satanists to celebrate and observe throughout the year. The Solstices and equinoxes are celebrated within Satanism1 by those that include aspects of traditional witchcraft in their practices. These Satanic holidays, like the holidays of so many other neo-pagan practices, were adapted from variations of the common Wiccan and pagan calendar year.

The Holiday Calendar for Satanists is very similar to the pagan model, listing seven different holidays in total, while the traditional Wiccan calendar year has eight. An example of the typical pagan calendar year can be found in the Witches Bible, which describes the solstices, procession of equinoxes and other holidays, connected with the celebration of their gods and goddesses.

  • Dedication To Satan

Recently I made a video for youtube, addressing the topic of pact-making with Satan. This is a controversial subject in Satanism because not all satanists accept that Satan is a god. For some, the forces of Satan are only Symbolic. Those who feel that Satan is only symbolic, do not have to be left out of the pact-making process. The pact can be literal, as a spiritual vow or agreement, or it can be symbolic, as a way of representing an agreement with satanism, or as a method of declaring one’s self as a satanist. There are a few things to take into consideration before you commence with ‘making a deal with the devil‘…

    1. You should consider carefully why you want to make a pact; what does it mean to you specifically, why is satanism important to you? What does your pact represent between you and satan? what does it symbolize?

    2. Selling the soul to Satan for riches fortune and fame is a myth and an urban legend. If that were true, all satanists would be rich and famous. Study the writings of Satanism, like the Satanic Bible instead of believing the hype written by non-satanists.

    3. Research and find out what Satan means to you. Only you can decide this for yourself and it is good to know what Satan represents to you before you enter into a life-long association with a spiritual path

    4. Fear comes from a lack of knowledge, and often those who don’t know what Satan represents, are apprehensive to make a pact thinking that Satan is dangerous or harmful. This is a fear that is created through the teachings of religions and superstitions. To the Theistic Satanist, Satan is a god, and this god is neither cruel nor benevolent; but it is the power and influence of Satan. And a pact with this god is an honorable thing.

    5. Realize that Satan is not here to satisfy our every desire, nor will he likely appear to those who are without a true spiritual intent, unless you are appealing to the forces of the christian Satan who would most likely love to bargain with you for your soul for your every earthly whim. Satan is not at your beck and call, unlike what the grimories say. From a Satanists point of view, we satisfy our own desires and by doing this we are in praise of Satan, and in praise of the self.

    6. Communion with a god, with Satan is a complex and lifelong spiritual process.
